Review: Banana Tree @ Keong Saik Road

Originating from Seoul, Korea, Banana Tree has finally set its roots here on Keong Saik Road, riding along with the rise of Korean desserts on sunny Singapore. Being an avid banana fan, I was of course, really excited for its opening. However, much to my dismay, NO, I’m too superficial for my own good. They don’t serve everything banana, even though they do have some banana-based desserts on their menu.

The Place

We visited them on the week of their opening, and on a public holiday. So, of course, the place was packed to the brim. Hence, my apologies for the lack of pictures of the interior of the cafe, because I was not even able to snap a picture without accidental photobombing heads bobbing up and down in my frame. I really liked how simple and clean the cafe looked, though.

The Food
Photo 3-4-15 2 33 51 pmPhoto 3-4-15 2 41 28 pm  As I’ve previously mentioned, we visited them on a public holiday, and we did not quite enjoy the waiting time there. We waited for 1 hour for our first order, and close to another 45 minutes for our second to arrive. It was pretty crazy. Since the hype of Banana Tree SG has died down a little in the recent days, according to my Instagram feed. I don’t think you will have to worry about the waiting time, as well as the crowd right now!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetSom Som Latte (Iced) Banana-flavored ($7) was the first thing I wanted to order at Banana Tree because. Cotton Candy. Come on, you got to admit, it looks quite cute and different right! I was a little disappointed because the cup we were served in was a plain cup, instead of one with the Banana Tree wordings. The latter was much more photogenic. *WHINES* #woesofaninstagrammer. This drink was well.. Average. If you’re a serious coffee drinker, of course, you should know better not to order this. It’s all for novelty’s sake. Oh, even though this may look REALLY sweet, but it’s not! I thought that the sweetness from the cotton candy and banana was well-balanced by the espresso!Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset Flower Paap (Espresso) – $6.50. I think this is worth every cent because it’s so CUTE and pretty! Look at those spade spoons! 😀 Taste-wise, it’s really nothing much shout about, just your usual oreo crumbs (soil), and espresso pudding! Nonetheless, an enjoyable dish. I loved how the bitterness of the espresso blended well with the oreo soil.  Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Non-Alcoholic Mojito – Lime ($7.50): I thought presenting this soda in a flask was quite cute. A very refreshing drink, especially on a hot day. It would have been better if we had like aloe vera or some jelly bits amongst those lime skin though!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Pot Bing Soo ($12.50): A really beautiful presentation, with the pot and the huge garden fork in this bing su dish! The flower is inedible ah, so don’t anyhow. Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetThis pot of bingsu consisted of shaved ice, red bean and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It is unfortunate for them that I’ve only tried 2 bingsus before this. One from the genuine, and legendary Nunsongyee, and the other, was the really unique twist from Chick and Ken. While one of them is crazy authentic, with SNOW ice, the other may not match up to the authentic bingsu, yet I was attracted to how localized the bingsu was. Banana Tree’s rendition of bingsu could not match up at all to either. Moreover, things would be tougher for them if they intend to be a contender in the traditional bingsu scene. The one I tried had inconsistent ice shavings, with some being smooth, while others were huge shards of ice clumped together. Moreover, I found it boring after a few mouthfuls, because it only had the above presented toppings as its companions. That means that as you progress deeper into the pot, you’ll just be eating.. Ice. Not impressed and definitely a dish to share.

Closing Remarks

I thought Banana Tree had its strengths in its signature presentation in its dishes. The cute pots and spades for its bingsu and Flower Paap really captured my heart, and got me squealing in excitement. Despite the rather average fare, I think I would make a return visit to Banana Tree for their desserts if I’m in the area, since the weather is crazy hot all year round. Moreover, I really liked how the cafe feels so clean and serene with the glass ceiling.

Banana Tree deserves at least one visit from all you cafe hoppers out there for their cute concept and decent desserts, without exorbitant prices!

Review: LeBan HK Cafe @ Jalan LeBan

Alright, alright, I shall stop being selfish and start sharing with the world about my favorite supper spot, besides Swee Choon, of course. I first heard of this place about 2 years ago, when i came across of a picture of their salted egg yolk fries, and have been dying to visit them ever since. However, I never had a chance and luck to until recently because they are located in a rather ulu part of Thomson, which is away from all the hustle and bustle are where all the cafes are sprouting up at.

In fact, I’ve made 2 attempts to visit them before I actually set foot into this cafe. My first attempt made was on the night of the Eve of Chinese New Year. My family and I were desperately looking for places to go for a late night dinner at about 10 or 11, and we decided to try our luck at LeBan, and they were expectedly closed. The second attempt was made by the boy to bring me there because I’ve mentioned it so many times, but he brought me to the mainstream Upp. Thomson area instead. So we went to Habitat in the end.

The Place

LeBan HK Cafe is aptly named because it is in fact located on Jalan LeBan, on the other direction of the longgggg stretch of Upper Thomson Road. You would be able to spot it when you are there because of its conspicuous signboard, which also boasts of a late opening hour of until 2am! I do not have pictures of the place itself, but they have adequate seats, and like most chinese restaurants, not much emphasis is placed on the design of the place. What matter most to them is the quality of food, and I absolutely concur.

The Food

I have not been to many Hong Kong cafes in Singapore or even in Hong Kong, despite being there for 4 times. I am not sure of what HK cafes serve, but LeBan offers a rather wide array of food, ranging from smaller bites like the condensed milk bun, toasts, finger food like their salted egg yolk fries, and Asian favorites like noodles and fried rice. They also serve more local food like curry chicken, as well as westernized dishes such as salads, pastas and chicken cutlet. Their menu can be found here! The prices here are also pretty wallet-friendly with most of the dishes priced at less than $10, and they also have set lunches which look value for money, and on our previous visit, they also have a all-day promotion of 1 for 1 mains!

Pardon the not-so-nice picture because I don’t put in as much time and effort to take pictures at that time. HAHA!IMG_4181 These are the condensed milk buns, which I LOVED. I am actually drawn to anything bread, with BUTTER. These buns were crisp and buttery, yet at the same time fluffy. I could just eat them all day. IMG_4192 This is the best French Toast I’ve had, even though i’ve been to so many cafes and tried their french toast. This was the first time I was actually close to tears when I took my first bite into the toast. Crisp on the outside, pillowy on the inside, the melted butter and maple syrup added the best combination of sweet and savory into the dish. And guess what, I had the greatest surprise of my life when I found out that there was actually PEANUT BUTTER spread in between each of these glorious cubes of carbohydrates. The ice cream served on the side just made everything 10x better. A definite MUST ORDER when you are here.

And in the background, we also ordered a cup of iced yuan yang, which was good as well, and a chicken chop! IMG_7281 I got the French Toast on my second visit as well, because it’s seriously something you’ve got to order when you are there. I want it in my mouth NOW.
IMG_7278 This was the dish in the one for one promotion. The boy got this chicken or was it pork cutlet, and a bowl of curry chicken. Both of which were surprisingly good, and we were pretty impressed. IMG_7284 THE salted egg yolk fries. We ordered the MONSTER version which could probably feed up to 3-4 pax. But be warned that once you start, you won’t be able to stop even though it may get a little jelat after a while, hence we both cleaned up this entire plate of fries on top of our meals. Entrenched within these strands of fries were little salted egg yolk which you can just pick up and eat, which I thought was quite an idea because I love the powdery feeling the salted egg yolk gives. These fries were buttery and tasted so, so, so good!
IMG_4190We saw that they had fried ice cream on their menu, and I pestered the boy to get it, because I’ve never had fried ice cream in my life before. We picked the chocolate flavored ice cream, and when I tried it, I thought the vanilla version would have had been better. To those who have never tried this before, it’s not a must for you to try it because this is basically just fried dough wrapped around some really cheap tasting ice cream, served with chocolate sprinkles. Don’t waste your calories, and your macros on these. Save the carb count for another serving of French Toast or salted egg yolk fries!

Closing Remarks

LeBan is definitely one of my favorite places for supper, even though I’ve only been there twice before. All of its offerings were up to our expectations, and the food there is also very affordable too! The downside is probably its location, as it can get quite inaccessible without your own transport especially if you are going there for supper. Moreover, there place is rather secluded with not many shops of interest nearby, or other cafes, which may be pretty out of the way for cafehoppers.

However, if you do have your own transport, and are craving for some good and affordable supper after a movie or work, LeBan is definitely a place worth considering. Besides, they have such a wide range of food, and I’m sure everyone would be able to find something that suits their tastebuds, and satisfy their cravings!

Review: Addictions Cafe and Remedy Bar @ Marina Square

Visiting Addictions Cafe and Remedy Bar is one of the rare times when I actually attempt to visit a cafe located within a shopping mall. In fact, I never knew they existed and this trip here was planned by the boy who wanted to bring me to the flyer for my birthday, and dinner at this place thereafter.

The Place

Addictions Cafe and Remedy Bar is located at the second level of Marina Square, at the enclave of food establishments. Adopting an open space concept, they occupy a rather big area, as they had a huge bar counter at the side of the cafe, and a relatively large number of tables. They are just opposite where Bangkok Jam is!

At the time when we patronized the cafe, there wasn’t a single soul in sight. We were the only patrons there and hence we attempted to choose a seat with the best lighting, and apparently we failed quite badly. I liked their menu, because they had really cute doodles behind the wooden board.

IMG_8865They do have poster of these cute doodles put up around the entire cafe too!

The Food
IMG_8861 Their offerings were rather common, and since they were located in a mall, their prices on a little on the high side.

We ordered a their Truffle Fries ($10++), as a starter, and I picked the Pan Fried Foie Gras ($17++) under their all day breakfast menu, and the boy ordered a main of Crispy Chicken Roulade with Foie Gras Rice ($19++). We were still fresh from our visit to Le Petit Paradis, and hence the foie gras choices. Moreover, I thought that the foie gras offering was pretty unique for a cafe, so it’s worth a try!

IMG_8869 Truffle Fries ($10++): This bowl of truffle fries was pretty huge, and to our surprise, it tasted pretty up to expectations as well. The taste of truffle was distinct and the fries stayed crisp throughout our meal! IMG_8953 Chicken Roulade with Foie Gras Rice ($19++): The chicken roulade was pretty huge as well, and overall a pretty good tasting dish. Not something I would order because of the rice but the chicken roulade has definitely impressed me quite a bit, and it would definitely leave you satisfied with its serving.
IMG_8878Pan Fried Foie Gras ($17++): served with a poached egg, 2 slices of brioche toasts and asparagus. The ironic thing was that, the star of the dish is actually the asparagus, as it was fresh, juicy, and crunchy! The toast was not exactly what I expected, because it’s texture resembled that of a piece of usual bread toast. The poached egg was not taken out properly, hence it left quite a lot of water remaining on the egg which diluted the entire taste of the egg. The foie gras was pretty average, decent at its best. IMG_8904

Closing Remarks

The standards and quality of food by Addictions Cafe was exactly what I expected from a cafe located in a mall like Marina Square. There is no sincerity in the dish that were served and taste-wise, was just average. Even though they had a few unique offerings, but sadly, they were not executed up to par and did not do the ingredients justice.

This visit has made me lose faith in cafes that are more located within malls, and with so many restaurants and cafes within the area, it was not surprising for them to be empty at the time when we visited them. A stark contrast in the crowd meter amongst its neighbors, and I guess now, we know the reason why!

IMG_8863 Thanks for the dinner treat Benny, and I had quite an eyeopening experience at the flyer, even though I thought it was lame initially. Singapore is SO PRETTY!

Review: Ronin @ 17 Hongkong Street

Ronin rəʊnɪn/

noun

a wandering samurai who had no lord or master.

True to its name, just like a samurai, Ronin lies along Hongkong street inconspicuously, just waiting to spring out at those who are seeking for it. From the same people behind The Bravery and The Plain, Ronin takes on the similar concept as its counterparts. What do these 3 cafes have in common? The air of mystery. No signboards, no shop front. The bravery doesn’t even have an apparent entrance. These people are not worried that cafehoppers would miss their store, they are confident that these group of hipsters would track them down by hook or by crook. And yes, they are indeed very right.

The first time I visited them when they were still a month old, I walked back and forth Hongkong street thrice, just because I could not manage to locate them. The first time I went to The Bravery with my boy, I was stuck inside because I didn’t know how to open the door. The first time I decided to pay The Plain a visit, it took me 2 tries to locate them on the short stretch of shop houses. They make you feel like a complete klutz but no other cafes would let you feel that kind of satisfaction when you finally locate them.

The Place

The Ronin is located on 17 HongKong street, lurking in a hole in the wall. Taking on a dark and industry theme on its interior, the place exudes the atas vibes. There are 2 communal tables available, and as the cafe is often packed with cafe goers on weekends, you would expect to find yourself sharing a table with other people. IMG_0336 IMG_9341 IMG_0334During 2 of my visits last year, they did not have any signboards, facebook page, contact number, nor menu available. Nothing has changed on year on, except that they actually have a menu placed right on top of the shelf right now. Previously, they had to have their servers verbally introducing the dish to you, and it’s some times pretty stressful because one may need time to ponder upon the choices, or need them to repeat, especially since the cafe can get pretty crowded and noisy. I think it’s only good for them to have a menu, so that we don’t have to be stressed out, or have the servers to spend their time explaining each dish, while they could be better off doing other things such as getting the food ready and serving them up to the waiting patrons.
Despite the introduction of the menu, I still found the service here to be pretty personal and sincere, as the servers are very keen to explain each dish if any explanation is needed, and you would tend to be attended to by the same server throughout your time in the cafe.

The Food
From my previous visit last year, I found out that they have expanded their menu quite a bit. When I last visited, they only had their French Toast and Scrambled Eggs available, together with some sandwiches.
Photo 23-11-14 5 48 21 pmThe menu is a little blurred but I’ve tried my best to snap a shot as discretely and unembarrassingly as possible. They now have a wider selection of hot foods, such as the curry rice and more varieties of sandwiches and salads. I tried their Brioche French Toast on my first visit, and their Scrambled Eggs on Toast on my second.
IMG_9345 French Toast ($14.50): And this was worth every single cent it is. Sorry the picture is a little blurred, this was back in the day when I didn’t give a shit about picture quality. The sweet and savory combination was like a party in my mouth, and on my palate. The braised apple was soft, yet not mushy, together with the hazelnut butter, and bacon, on the french toast just left me screaming in my head. This was indeed one unforgettable french toast. And at least it has a little meat in the form of the sweet savory bacon to give me my protein fix! SO DAMN GOOD, you definitely got to try!  IMG_9342Wicked Mocha ($6.50): This is a classic take on the peppermint mocha. What differentiates this from the rest in the market is the quality of the chocolate sauce used in their mocha. The peppermint taste was not too overwhelming, and the mocha was the right amount of chocolatey. None of the flavors overwhelms the other, and worked in perfect harmony. If I did not remember wrongly, the first time I had, this was on the menu as a Christmas special, and I’m surprised to have found it a regular, signature drink on its menu right now, which is the best news ever!
IMG_9532Scrambled Eggs on Toast ($9.00): I thought the scrambled eggs on toast itself was rather boring, and so I added on a portobello mushroom for $3.50. This dish may be a little too pricey, however, the creamy scrambled eggs made up for it. This plate of scrambled eggs beat any others I’ve had before hands down. I don’t know what they did to the eggs, but these scrambled eggs were thick, fluffy and creamy, it’s everything you’re looking for in a perfect scrambled egg.

I have not visited Ronin in a year, and decided to return for it’s wicked mocha because I’ve been craving for a peppermint mocha for a while, and hence I popped by 2 weeks ago!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetThe iced version of the wicked mocha ($7.50) and a banana bread ($4) to go along with it. The iced version was amazing. I loved how the taste of peppermint and mocha did not get watered down despite the ice melting after a while. The thick chocolate sauce with thick, and surprisingly not too sweet. What a treat! The banana bread was, however, just average. It’s moist, but that’s pretty much to it, nothing to shout about! I’ve heard a lot about their salted caramel brownies, and that would definitely be the next on my list when I visit them for a cup of Wicked!

Closing Remarks
Ronin is a pretty nice place to chill and have your brunch fix satisfied. Even though their menu is not as extensive as that of many others, from my experience with their 2 dishes, I dare say that the quality of food is rather consistent. Drinks wise, their wicked mocha is a definite recommendation, and their matcha-tone, has pretty good reviews, for you matcha lovers out there.
The mains served here may be a little pricey for its serving and the kind of ingredients used, however the quality of their food makes up all for it. As hidden as it might be, the cafe is often packed during the weekends, even at non-peak hours, and it can get pretty noisy. A down side to this usually relaxing and quiet cafe is that they do not provide wifi, which is a pity because it’s the perfect place to grab a good cuppa and get some work done! If they had wifi, you’d probably see me there very often. And even without any facebook pages or signboards, they can get so packed, which really proves their quality and the power of social media.

Review: The Boiler @ Tai Seng

It’s always rare for my friends and I to decide on having a seafood-based meal, because the word seafood tends to equate to expensive, unless we decide to go to Chomp Chomp or something. I was trying to look for a place to have my 22nd birthday dinner with my sister, and she openly hinted that she wants to head to some where with seafood. But it’s my birthday, also not hers. I complied, and The Boiler occurred to me because it was at Tai Seng, which is near to our homes, and it serves up seafood in a bag, a concept which I’ve been wanting to try since I heard about Crab in Da Bag at East Coast!
Photo 4-11-14 7 38 05 pm

The Place

The Boiler is located about a 5-minute walk away from Tai Seng MRT, nestled amongst the construction and industrial sites. We thought we were lost while trying to make our way there because it seemed almost impossible to have an eatery in that area. We were actually genuinely surprised when we saw that there were quite a number of people in the restaurant.
Photo 4-11-14 7 38 30 pm The boiler takes on an industrial look, playing with the black and white colors. The place was pretty huge, and one could probably throw a seafood party for a 100 if they wanted to. Photo 4-11-14 7 40 03 pm They even have a little section of children to play, which was a good idea because no one would want to fuss over their kids when they have their hands full of seafood!

The Food
Here’s the menu for The Boiler, and their promotional price for their lobster at just $49++! Unfortunately, we didn’t get this because we are really bad (and lazy) at eating such seafood with shells, like lobsters and crabs!  Photo 4-11-14 7 40 25 pm Photo 4-11-14 7 40 38 pm When you are here, you definitely have to go for the bags of seafood, because that’s how they roe! Besides, everything just tastes better when you use your hands and that gives you a reason to not use your phone when you’re having dinner! Perfect! We went for the Boiler’s Duo Bag ($49++), which included prawns, mussels, clams, sausages, corn and buns! It doesn’t sound like it’s a lot but these are the kind of seafood we love, and we were very, very wrong to think that they didn’t sound like a lot. Photo 4-11-14 7 41 48 pmWe went for some sides as well, because like I said, we thought the seafood was not a lot. We ordered a Southern Chicks & Waffles with Maple Syrup ($9.90++) and Sweet Potato Fries ($6.90++). We would have went for the Lobsicle, however there were reviews online saying that they were pretty unimpressive, and hence we went for the waffles instead!
Photo 4-11-14 7 49 41 pmAfter we placed our orders, the server came over to provide us with this cute little plastic bib, just to protect our clothes in case of splashing juices from their seafood. They also provide ziplock bags for our phones, real thoughtful huh!Photo 4-11-14 7 48 04 pm While waiting for our starters to be served, my sister gave me my birthday present: a red packet and this huge ass chocolate fudge cake, she bought from one of her friends, which tasted quite bad. Hahaha!   Photo 4-11-14 7 50 50 pm Besides the bibs and ziplock cases, we are also provided with lemons to wash our hands with, and to probably hold the plastic spread over our table in place!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Sweet Potato Fries ($6.90++): I thought that the serving was not too bad for its price! Taste wise, it’s rather average, nothing to shout about, but if you’re a fan of sweet potato fries, there’s no harm in getting this to curb those cravings!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Southern Chicks and Waffles ($10.90++): It seems like fried chicken and waffles are the in thing now, and The Boiler serves them in bite sized pieces! We were pleasantly surprised that The Boiler, being a place that specializes in seafood, actually served up really good fried chicken. We were almost fighting for the last piece! The maple syrup that was spread over the dish also went very well with the entire dish! Ah, I’m craving for some fried chicken now!

We had to wait for quite a while before our bag of seafood arrived, which got us really excited!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset  We chose the sauce, The Works (Medium), as we were huge fans of heat, but I saw reviews online that the Ragin’ Hot level was crazily spicy, and we didn’t want a horrible time in the bathroom the next day. So we stuck with just the Medium heat! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetMantous were also provided to go with the sauce. I wish they’ve had given us more though! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetHere’s how it’s like when the seafood is all poured out. There were a good number of every variety. Definitely enough for sharing for 2! The sauce was sufficiently hot, and pretty yummy! However, if you can’t take much spiciness, it’s recommended that you go for the lower level, or from the other sauces, because this got us panting a little! The seafood was also amazingly fresh and delicious!

Photo 4-11-14 8 49 01 pm We were pretty stuffed after our duo bag, but we really wanted to try the other sauces and thought that 250g worth of mussels were not a lot, and hence we went ahead to get another 250g of mussels, because the additional quantities are only allowed to be ordered in multiples of 250g!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetWe got 250g of mussels in garlic butter! This was actually quite a lot and I had like 9/10 of this entire bag because the sister couldn’t stomach any more mussels. I would say that the garlic butter was very yummy, and especially with garlic, the sauce was really yummy and fragrant. However, the taste of this sauce stayed with us long after our dinner and even the next day, despite brushing my teeth 5 times, and downing a gallon of water. Too much garlic I guess!

Closing Remarks

Overall, I was very pleased with my visit to The Boiler! It’s indeed quite a fun experience of using our hands “legitly” to have our seafood, just the way I like it. I usually want to use my hands but I’m afraid of being judged and also getting really dirty after that, but the concept at The Boiler changes everything!

Besides, the prices for the food here were quite value for money! They have definitely changed my impression of seafood being expensive food. The seafood were very fresh and the sauces complemented well! The surprising thing was that their other offerings, which were non-seafood related, were also good! I heard their fish and chips are very good as well, so it’s a worth a try if you’re a fan of that particular dish!

The Boiler would definitely be on the top of my list when I crave for a seafood feast in the future, or when i’m looking for a place for a nice celebration. The ambience, service and food were more than impressive, and I’m glad to be able to celebrate my 22nd birthday dinner there!

Review: 23 Jumpin @ 1 Irving Place

Yet another cafe has landed in the industrial area of Tai Seng, with a couple more still in their infant stages of operations. In one of the most unseeming place for businesses, the Commerz which is soon becoming an enclave of cafes, is like a fresh breath blown into the area. 23 Jumpin, is one of these up and coming cafes, being located in this new complex.

Photo 24-11-14 4 13 32 pm As you can see, there are a number of new enterprises and cafes in this new building.

The Place
23 Jumpin, is located on 1 Irving Place, part of the new Commerz building in the Tai Seng area. Do not be fooled by its location, even though it may sound very secluded, it is actually located just a minute walk away from the circle line station, Tai Seng (Exit A). Like what I’ve told Gary, the owner of 23 Jumpin, their location may be ulu, but not THAT ulu, which makes them the perfect spot to chill, because it’s so nice and quiet, yet very accessible, unlike some of the cafes we know that requires a good amount of workout before we can locate them. Photo 24-11-14 4 13 45 pm The interior of 23 Jumpin takes on a very simplistic design, and dim lighting. The cafe makes use of the warm colors for their furniture to make the place seem very cosy. Photo 24-11-14 6 14 58 pm   Photo 24-11-14 6 15 07 pm They are just one of those perfect spots for a catch up over some coffee, or to get some work done. It’s just a pity that they do not have wifi in the cafe, otherwise I’m pretty sure that they would be a hit with students!

The Food
Photo 24-11-14 4 15 56 pm In my opinion, the main draw of 23 jumpin is their all-day brunch offerings, because who doesn’t love breakfast food?! Besides brunch food, they also do offer other mains, such as that of pasta, burger, and some proteins.

I paid 23 Jumpin two visits, and both times I left feeling very impressed with the service and food. On my first visit, I got a cup of iced mocha to go with my review on Les Patisseries. I arrived at about 3 in the afternoon, and there was only one other patron in the cafe. What a perfect environment to enjoy some coffee and get some work done at the same time! After my mocha was being served, the server came over to ask for my feedback about the drink because she thought that she was rather inexperienced in making an iced mocha. And I was very impressed with this such a sincere gesture because it really shows how much importance they place on their quality of food and drinks!

Photo 24-11-14 4 25 00 pmI thought that the mocha was a little too sweet, probably because of the chocolate sauce, and I personally prefer my mocha with a stronger taste of coffee, and a good blend of the 2 flavors, chocolate and coffee!Photo 24-11-14 4 35 42 pm Before I knew it, she got Gary, the owner of the cafe, who happens to be an avid coffee drinker, to make another cup of iced mocha for me. An absolutely generous and sincere gesture. This cup of mocha was right to my liking, a good blend of chocolate and coffee!

Photo 24-11-14 4 25 30 pmI wasn’t intending to order any of their desserts, even though I’ve heard so much about their tiramisu and panna cotta, which are both made in- house, because I thought that I would get them on my next visit. Besides I’m getting a little too fluffy for my own good. However, my diet was sabotaged by the cafe, as they decided to serve me a jar of tiramisu on the house to gather my opinion on their dessert.
Photo 24-11-14 4 26 11 pmI’m not an expert on tiramuisus because I don’t eat them often, or have a particular liking for them. However, this jar of tiramisu impressed me a lot, as its texture was soft, airy and fluffy, and not too sweet. I liked it A LOT. No wonder it got so many good reviews!  Photo 24-11-14 4 27 26 pm Here’s happy Rainbo with my drink and tiramisu, and my very satisfied tummy!
Photo 24-11-14 4 41 32 pmI had a good chat with Gary, and found out that he’s a really avid coffee drinker, and he made a cappuccino with his new coffee maker for me to taste. What makes their coffee stand out from the rest of the ones we get in other cafes is that it is made from a 5-bean blend, and the absence of acidity is what draws many cafe hoppers, because it’s so refreshing and not too eeky. And this goes amazingly well with the tiramisu!!

Fun fact: Gary actually took time to make sure that he learnt how to execute a latte art before opening this cafe, because he thought that even though latte art is not a guarantee of quality of coffee, but it shows the dedication of a barista and how much heart he puts into making a drink. I thought such dedication is really admirable, and it’s no wonder why the coffee they serve at 23 jumpin, is so good!

On my second visit, two days later, I came here with the boy for lunch after our gym on our bicycles like a true blue hipster.
Photo 26-11-14 12 57 31 pm
We got an Iced Mocha, Eggs Benedict and a Duck Confit. One item each from their mains.   Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset  To my bit of disappointment, the iced mocha was very much on the sweet side again, and I couldn’t seem to appreciate it as much as the cappuccino I had previously. But the boy seemed to be okay with it, so it’s just me and my fussy taste buds then!Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetEggs Benedict: Even though we were a little bored of the usual brunch fix, I thought this was one of the better Eggs Ben we’ve had. The dish was photogenic, the poached eggs were done perfectly and the muffins which the eggs and ham were served atop were buttery and very fragrant.
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Look at the runny yolk! I would actually come back for this the next time I happen to be craving for brunch food cause it is THAT good! Possibly because of the muffins cause they were so good, and I’m a carb whore!Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetYou don’t usually see Duck confit being served in cafes. A dish that requires experience and time to perfect the cooking, a good duck confit is a mark of a good chef, in this case, is Gary’s mother who used to work in the other cafes as well! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset This dish was an absolute delight! The duck meat slid off the bone easily, and combined with the mash that is served on the side, it’s just a match made in heaven. The sauce drizzled upon the duck also gave a tangy taste that makes you crave for more after every bite. I would appreciate more if they served mushrooms alongside with their duck confit though! Hehe! Photo 26-11-14 12 38 08 pm

Closing Remarks

I feel that with such sincere service and cooking, 23Jumpin has the potential to be one who should not be trifled with in the cafe scene, if they stay consistent in their quality of food. However, what I think would allow them to draw more customers is by expanding their starters menu, because a serving of House Salad, is definitely not good enough as a cafe. If they are able to serve up the usual starters, like truffle fries or sweet potato fries to go along with their mains, they may be able to provide more options for the diners, as well as to spice up their menu a little more.

Moreover, besides the usual desserts that they offer right now, they could expand to have a counter of cakes, or have regular bake sales, which gives them greater variety on their desserts, as most people, do appreciate a good cake to go with their coffee. This may make them a more attractive spot during the mid afternoons where most table hoggers, like me, appear.

Overall, I enjoyed both my visits to 23 Jumpin a lot. The prices of the food here are also very affordable as compared to that in many cafes. Even though it may be a little difficult to locate on Google Maps, it is in fact, a very accessible spot for all of us to get our lunch/brunch fix. Good ambience, good food and sincere service, I would definitely be back for their other offerings on the menu!

Review: Shrove Tuesday @ Toa Payoh

Shrove Tuesday, I’ve always been hearing good reviews about its waffles, but have never actually gotten down to visiting it because it’s at Toa Payoh, and besides, I don’t always crave for waffles. I’m more of a pancake person, who ironically have eaten ALOT MORE WAFFLES than pancakes.

I’ve been to Shrove Tuesday twice before deciding to do a review on them. The first was with my friends cum colleagues on the last week of my internship, when we were given a 3 hour lunch break. No, more like when we gave ourselves a 3 hour lunch break. The second visit, was due to the fact that I bought a voucher fro Sugar App for the first visit, but didn’t get to use it because we got a 20% staff discount then!

If you haven’t already known, Shrove Tuesday is also known as PANCAKE DAY (okay justifies why I’m here), and it’s a day marked with feasting and celebration.

The Place

Shrove Tuesday is located about a 10 minutes walk from Toa Payoh Central, provided if you don’t lose your way. I would say it’s located at a relatively inconvenient location, unless you stay around the neighborhood. It’s situated along a row of shops, under a HDB block. The interior is rather cosy from the warm lights with the off white and orange paint work on the walls. Photo 17-11-14 3 32 38 pm The cafe might seem a little small, however, it’s able to house about 4-6 tables of 2 seater, a comfortable 4-seater and a huge brown table for large groups of people, which is behind the counter! The thing I loved about Shrove, is the pretty tiles on the tables. Photo 12-11-14 11 58 14 am This was my favorite thing in the entire cafe! Hahaha!  Photo 12-11-14 11 53 58 am And here’s a very good reminder for all of us when we are starting to feel guilty about our diet. Eat abs for abs!

The Food

On both visits, I’ve only had their waffles. However, they do serve up a relatively wide range of sweets (desserts) and drinks. Besides waffles with ice cream, they do offer macarons and home-made cakes and desserts as well. They do also serve up 2 savory dishes, which are new on their menu, shown below! Photo 17-11-14 3 32 52 pmOn my first visit, I ordered a waffle and a scoop of Rocher (flavor of the day) ice cream for my lunch. Rocher is a flavor that is derived from the well-known ferrero rocher, with bits of nuts in the scoop of chocolate rocher-flavored ice cream. It’s easily a crowd pleaser. However, being a chocolate person, and one who likes ice cream with “things in it”, for the crunch, I find that Shrove is unable to cater to my needs well enough. HAHAHA! They mainly serve up flavors that tend more to the fruity ones like raspberry, durian, or the more common ones such as Vanilla or chocolate. If you’re a fan of Pistachio, you’ll be glad to hear that they do have that flavor. Unfortunately, I’m not much of a fan.

Here’s our waffle party:Photo 12-11-14 12 46 51 pm The Madagascar Vanilla, which is basically just vanilla. Photo 12-11-14 12 08 46 pm Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetI ordered a peanut butter fudge cake ($3), because it’s PEANUT BUTTER! It’s a really really small serving, which i didn’t mind at all, however, the cake was way too dry.

On my first visit, I was not able to tell how good Shrove’s waffles really are, because it’s been a long while since I had waffles, and that, I’m really not a huge fan of waffles. However, I visited Shrove again a week later, after my trip to Les Patisseries. We had their signature Horffles, which we thought were not too good, and this time round, the waffles here stood out in stark contrast. The waffles from Shrove are really good, the right amounts of fluffy, and soft.

Photo 17-11-14 3 33 55 pmJust like the first time, I had some difficulties trying to choose the flavor that entices me. We got the Mao Shan Wang ice cream after the staff’s recommendations. I thought the ice cream was great, really flavorful, however, as we know that the taste of durian can get overpowering, this scoop of ice cream kinda masked the taste of the waffle as well. So if you’re looking to taste the waffle as well as the ice cream itself, I would not recommend this!

Closing Remarks

It’s been a while since I’ve had waffles, and Shrove’s waffles definitely did not disappoint. However, I wouldn’t say it’s a must try, especially since there are so many places serving up waffles right now, and these did not exactly wow me. Maybe I need a few more bad experiences before I learn to appreciate these waffles from Shrove Tuesday.

It’s worth a visit if you are around the area, but not so much that you have to make a special trip down to try them!

Review: Dojo @ Circular Road

If you were to google Dojo or Dojo SG, you would probably be unable to find reviews of this place on and be very likely to be surprised about the numbers of Dojos we have in Singapore. Maybe, try, Dojo SG Cafe. You might get luckier with that. Photo 15-11-14 1 51 44 pmI visited Dojo last Saturday, because I was heading to Purple Parade at Hong Lim Park. Dojo is situated in between Tanjong Pagar and Clarke Quay, and of course, like many of the cafes these days, a bit of walking is needed for you to get there, if you’re coming by public transport!

The Place

I surprisingly did not have a difficult time searching for this place. Situated in the midst of bars and pubs on Circular Road, Dojo stood out with its distinct signboard. I don’t think it would be difficult for any one to miss the huge fonts. They occupy a relatively small space, with both outdoor and indoor seating.

There were about 3 2-seaters outside, while the inside catered to larger groups of diners of 4-6 pax, and had a couple of 2-seaters as well. Despite the compact space, I was glad that the seats were not too close to each other and there was sufficient space to move about within the cafe.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset

The menu can be found on the chalkboard hung outside the cafe, at the counter, and they provide personal menus too. Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Photo 15-11-14 1 52 39 pm
Mmmm.. We would all agree right?

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with c1 presetA closer look of the menu, and its descriptions! I don’t know what they are named after, probably some street fighter thingy that guys would know very well. Stereotype much. Hahaha!

Photo 15-11-14 1 56 41 pmI intentionally took a close up of this because LOOK AT THAT Elvisu! Peanut butter and Jam with bacon and pork patty. My gosh. Everything I love in one place.

The Food

Dojo might just be a month old, but the food they serve are definitely not amateurish. I knew what I wanted to order way before I came here, because it was a definite no brainer. Ever since I’ve had the Tyson Peanut Butter burger from Burger vs. Wings + Bar, all kinds of PB burgers entice me. As I was a little early and waiting for the boy to find his way here, one of their owners (I suppose) from Dojo, actually sat down with me to go through their menu with me. I really appreciate such sincere service and the personal touch is lacking in many cafes.

He gave me a rundown of all the different burgers and I learnt that all the pork patties were handmade from scratch, and they do not contain any MSG or preservatives. All burgers consist of pork patties, while the Little Dragon uses pork steak instead. It was a sell out on Wednesday that week! Seems like it’s my next go-to burger here from Dojo!

We ordered an Elvisu ($12) and a Kaiju ($12), because the Kaiju has mushrooms and the boy just ordered it for the mushrooms cause I love mushrooms. Hahahaha! Before I forget, the price reflected on the menu are NETT, and they come with a bottle of water or canned drink of your choice and a side of fries! A really affordable deal I would say, especially in this area! We upgraded our meals with a naked salad (+$1), and their beef chili cheese fries (+$2). We also ordered 2 sides, Pork Grillets ($6) and Komba Bao (2 pcs for $6). Fat, I know.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
Pork Grillets ($6): Basically just grilled pork steaks. We felt that the portion was a little too small to actually warrant us $6. Maybe the pork nuggets would have had fared better. But I rejected the idea cause it was fried, then again what difference does it make right? These pork grillets are actually pretty tasty, but there’s nothing much to shout about. Just your usual pork steaks!
Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Komba Bao ($6 for 2): Unlike your usual kongba pau in the normal pau, they actually deep fried the buns, and this reminded me of the ones I had at Windowsill pies! The buns were soft and fluffy on the inside, yet crispy on the outside. Mmm.. I can almost taste it right now, really good buns! And for the fillings, instead of the usual pork belly slices, they used little chunks of meat, with some sauce, which made it a little more moist. If you’re craving for the taste of the traditional kongba pau, you may not find it in this, but this is a rather good twist to the usual ones! It makes a good meal if you’re a small eater too!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset The Elvisu with Naked salad ($13): I squealed with excitement when I saw this burger cause LOOK AT THE PB oozing out, and that long slice of bacon! The burger was divine. The combination of PB&J in a burger may not work with most people because it may be a little too weird on your palate, or like my boy, think that it’s a tad too dry for his liking because of the PB. However, this worked perfectly for me. The peanut butter taste was strong and distinct, and it went really well with the moist pork patty, accompanied by the bacon.

The naked salad on the side was really disappointing cause it tasted just weird. i dont know why but something in it doesn’t work for me, and I could barely finish half of it. I would say, skip the salad, and stick to the fries instead! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset You may expect the burger to be pretty messy to eat, but the ingredients in the burger stayed on so well, and every mouthful you take, consisted of a good proportion of the bun, patty, pb&j and the bacon. The buns were also really soft and fluffy, but nothing beats Omakase’s buns. This comes in a close second though! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset
Look at that. Just.. LOOK AT THAT.

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset The Kaiju with beef chili cheese fries ($12 + 2): They were certainly not kidding when they said that the burger is packed with a monstrous serving of mushrooms! I thought the sauce was the winner here, and its combination with the mushrooms, patty and buns just makes you crave for more than one of this! The beef chili cheese fries is not the usual ones you would expect. Their sauce resembled that of the chili crab sauce, a little sweet, and it was hence more Asian tasting than its Western counterpart from Carl’s Junior and friends. But still pretty damn good! Processed with VSCOcam with c1 preset Look at the mushrooms!!!!!!!!!!!!

Closing Remarks

Despite being just one month old, I think that the concept here of just serving PORK BURGERS is pretty awesome. However, I know of quite a lot of friends who do not really like pork and also for our Halal friends, this place may be losing its potential clientele. The food served here is definitely of good quality and taste, and at a pretty affordable price tag too!

It may be quite noisy, I suppose, if the place gets too crowded, as its a really small and confined area. Probably a good place for lunch or a dinner gathering for the working people around the CBD area, and a great place for pork lovers! Their burgers are well-executed and the different combinations are really creative especially since they only use pork as their protein! I would definitely recommend this place for a visit if you’re around the area for some quick and affordable bite! I know I will be back for some burgers since I’m always around the area!

Review: Le Petit Paradis @ Katong

Le Petit Paradis, a 7-month old French restaurant located along East Coast road, may not catch your attention immediately, as compared to its longstanding counterparts such as Carvers and Co., 328 Katong Laksa, and Sin Hoi Sai Eating house. Its seemingly unassuming and minimalistic outlook, with the whitewashed walls, and a relatively small space (70-seater), may not seem as appealing, however, it did catch the eye of my boy, as we walked along the entire stretch, for our plan B as Carvers & Co. was closed for works till November.

The restaurant is opened by the very talented 24-year-old, Enoch Teo, who had caught my attention with his sincere service. After walking to what seemed like the end of the stretch of East Coast Road, my boy decided that he wanted some French food from Le Petit Paradis instead. We walked into the restaurant on this fateful Sunday night, just when they experienced a power outage. What luck we have with food all the time right! The server gave us a heads up about the possibility of having an uncomfortable dining experience due to the humidity and stuffiness, especially after a rainy day. Hence, we decided against having our dinner here and walked around some more searching for an alternative. However, the draw of the French restaurant was too great that we found ourselves walking back to Le Petit 2 minutes later, and to our pleasant surprise, everything was back to normal. Just as we were contemplating whether we should head back into the restaurant, we saw Enoch waving and walking towards us enthusiastically to ask us to come into the restaurant. Obviously, you can’t possibly turn down such a offer by the talented man right?

And it was the best decision we’ve made in the week.

The Ambience

The interior of the restaurant went by the simplistic and minimalist design, with its whitewashed brick walls and black tables, which we thought made a really good background for the pictures of our food because of the contrast. It has a relatively small space, a 70-seater restaurant. A homely place with a comfortable ambience.

I heard that this place was actually part of Alibabar hawker kopitiam, located just a few shops down, beside Aston’s. A good move to have their own space, in my opinion, because this place would be bustling with diners in due time.

The Food

They have recently launched a new menu on 13 October, which can be found here! The mains offered range from pasta, to the various proteins, such as spring chicken, duck confit, pork belly, salmon, and beef bourgignion. Looks like they have got every protein covered huh. We had a relatively tough time trying to decide what to get because all of them looked so appealing to us.

In the end, we ordered 2 appetizers, the Shitake and Truffle Pasta and Pan-fried Foie Gras. For our mains, the boy got a Beef Bourgignion, while I had a Sous Vide Spring Chicken.

IMG_8170

Shitake and Truffle Pasta ($3.90++): Braised Shitake, truffle oil, garlic chips and capellini. A great appetizer in my opinion, and I loved their braised shitake mushrooms because they were so, so fragrant. The combination of the capellini doused with truffle oil and shitake mushrooms was just on the point, a really, really good dish! Besides, where can you find a dish that costs $3.90 in a French restaurant?

IMG_8197

Pan Fried Foie Gras ($16++): served with toasted brioche and cranberry compote. This was the dish that left me hanging. I just want to go back there to have a taste of this over and over again. The foie gras was “melt in your mouth” (I quote the boy) good. And indeed it was. The raspberry compote enhanced the flavors of the dish, and I liked it best with the brioche. My gosh. Just get me 5 of this for my birthday. Every calorie consumed was and will be worth it.

IMG_8199

Sous vide Spring Chicken ($15.50++): Half spring chicken with sauteed bacon, mushrooms and mashed potato (which I switched it for some greens). A fairly safe dish, but they have elevated the flavors of the spring chicken with the sauce they used to complement the dish, besides the chicken breast was very moist and tender! Great stuff!

IMG_8184

A close up of the yummy chicken!

IMG_8200

Beef Bourguignon ($19++): Beef shin braised in red wine with carrots, pearl onions, smoked bacon, served with mashed potato. The beef was so tender and juicy, complemented with the hint of red wine, every mouthful was a pleasant surprise. The boy definitely enjoyed this dish, because every spoonful he offered to me, I just melted into a puddle of OMG IT’S SO DAMN GOOD. Hahahaha!

The food served here was sincere, accompanied with an affordable price tag, I was really, really impressed by its quality.

Closing Remarks

This little diner is easily accessible if you know how to get to i12 mall at Katong, because it is located diagonally opposite of the shopping mall. With such a sincere and affordable French fare, they deserve every form of recognition they can get. This is one of the rare places, which I actually would want to come back for food for, considering that I am someone who loves novelty and don’t really like to make repeated visits to a diner.

Yet, Le Petit Paradis, small it may be, has certainly charmed us, and I would gladly return to try their other dishes such as the pork chop and of course, be back for MORE foie gras. A definite MUST VISIT, and I just can’t stop raving about this place in all of my conversations these days.

Review: Sunday Market @ Lim Tua Tow

It is my goal now to publish at least 2 of the food reviews of the places I’ve been to each week. So for this week, the first one I’ll be reviewing is Sunday Market, the cafe situated just a 5 minute drive away from my humble abode. & yes, I promise to take better pictures of the places we will be visiting in the future, so I can show you guys how the environment and ambience is like of each cafe!

Sunday Market is one of those truly hipster cafe, with the warm, rustic feel to it. And just like most popular cafes these days, they do also have a bicycle mounted on the wall. I quite like the ambience of this place because of its brick walls and it really gives off really cosy vibes, even though it was full house with the bustling Sunday crowd. Yeah, these people, as cliche as us, visiting Sunday Market on a Sunday afternoon.

The Menu

Their menu can be found here, on their website. I personally love it when a cafe’s menu is easily accessible on site, because it gives me more time to think about the food I want, and not be overwhelmed by the possible choices when being presented with the menu! Moreover, it is really handy to have the prices stated on the menu, especially when you are running really tight on your budget and still intend to cafehop!

You can expect the usual brunch suspects here, with a twist. They’ve got your waffles, french toast, eggs benedict, all covered, but how often do you get Waffles with Fried Chicken, French toasts with bbq chicken, or a sirloin rendang toast? And of course, not forgetting their famous Bangkok Toast!

The Food

To rev up our engines for more food, we ordered the Skinny Wings with Truffle Fries. I mean, what’s there not to like about this dish right? The boy loves WINGS. And we love TRUFFLE FRIES. So, this choice was a definite no brainer for us. Indeed, the skinny wings were the Victoria Secret models of the chicken world, they were really small portions, which I thought was just perfect for an appetizer (I’m a lousy photographer, you can’t see the wings, but it may be because it’s really that small). It is served with a rather generous portion of truffle fries, as well as thai chili dip and mayo.

IMG_5800

Skinny Wings with Truffle Fries ($6.90++): The skinny wings were crisp and tasty, while the fries were rather generously tossed with truffle oil as well. A great appetizer to start with in my opinion, and really worth the price too!

We ordered 2 mains. The boy had a Roasted Duck with Garlic Hosin Crispy Eggs. Wh..Wha.. What? Garlic Hosin Crispy Eggs? We’ve no idea as well, even after finishing the entire dish. Hahaha!

IMG_5758

Roasted Duck with Garlic Hosin Crispy Eggs ($12.90++): Savory pancakes with roasted duck, mixed cress and garlic hosin. I thought this dish was perfectly executed because I simply loved how well the combination of sweet and savory came together. The pancakes had a hint of buttermilk, and it just went extremely well with the savory floss like roasted duck and garlic hosin sauce.

IMG_5766

Here’s a specimen of my boy, trying to take a good picture of his food after being insulted by Sherlin Toh for his poor photography skills. HAHAHA!

I ordered the French Toasts with BBQ Chicken. A dish that seemed so simple to execute and yet, came so well together.

IMG_5768

French Toasts with BBQ Chicken ($12.90++): Fried egg served with green onions, toast, grilled bbq chicken thigh, mixed cress and sriracha sauce. Let’s be honest here, offer me anything with sriracha sauce, and I’m sold. The toast tasted just like the french toast I make with my gardenia bread, nothing as complex as the toasts they serve these days in other cafes. A very simple, homely taste, which made me think twice about the price I’ve paid for this dish. Besides, the bbq chicken was just like any other chicken chop we can get from the Western stalls. However,  as much as this dish may seem deceptively simple, the combination was divine, because it just brought me back to my childhood days with the taste of the eggy french toast, and the very clever use of the sriracha sauce. A good dish to order, but it’s not something you may want to order if you are looking to taste something unique.

IMG_5778

Here’s all that we’ve ordered, and how can a meal be complete without desserts right? Without a doubt, we went directly for their signature dish, the Bangkok Toast.

IMG_5789

Bangkok Toast ($10.90++): Cinnamon thick sweet brioche toast with Matcha green tea custard, served with Thai Milk Tea ice cream. Brioche toast. Thai Milk Tea ice cream. The description already sounds more than divine. And guess what they left out? There is surprise cream custard with the toast, which not only made the entire dish even more sinful, but we all know that the more sinful, the better tasting right? The Thai Milk Tea ice cream was fragrant, however, I thought that it melted a little too quickly. It may be because I took a long while trying to snap a good picture of this dish too. Overall, even though this was undeniably delicious, I thought that it was slightly overpriced for the portion, as well as the entire feel of the whole dish. Well.. then again it’s their signature dish, so I guess it’s only right for them to charge more for it.

Closing Remarks

The food here was really good, and of course, pretty well plated. I enjoyed the ambience of the entire place, despite it being packed to the brim on a Sunday afternoon. The twist that they have created for their dishes worked, fortunately to their favor. However, one thing they could improve on, was possibly the service. We had to wait for a pretty long while for the toast to be served, despite reminding them twice. Our glasses were also not refilled even though they were left empty for quite awhile. Maybe it’s because of the overwhelming number of orders that have kept the servers busy, probably with time and experience, they would be able to deal with the crowd better.

The prices of the food were relatively reasonable except for the Bangkok toast, and a plus side, is that there is a huge carpark space just in front of the cafe, which is a relief to many of the drivers, however, the down side is that there is unfortunately, no free parking. Like they say, with more parking, comes with more responsibility.

Maybe it’s the influence of the Bangkok Toast, this day was also the day when we have decided to go on our BKK trip, which was one of the best experiences in my life, and you can read about my trip here!
